ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and organised individual to join our team as an Office Team Leader. As the central point of contact for our new Cape Town office, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming environment for both staff and visitors.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Front Desk / Reception
- Manage the receptionist and the front desk and provide support with training and inspection of requirements specific to the profile from time to time
- Logistical support through communication of daily, weekly and monthly goals as per managers directive
- Room / Meeting Allocations
- Management of room allocations and the Skedda booking system
- Coordinate upkeep of office space, meeting rooms and external meetings and guests
- Engagements / Catering
- Dedicated management of all engagements and meetings and building relationships with local food and beverage businesses at Makers Landing
- Effective management of team capacity and delegation i.e. set up coordination, grocery shopping coordination
- Recycling
- Aligning with the V&A’s strong recycling ethos; integrating their collection programme into our office operations
- Responsible for effective stock control management i.e. stationery, consumables, and perishables
- Parking
- Coordinating with the V&A team for our dedicated parking spaces, managing pre-paid parking tickets for additional needs
- SmartWorks
- Overseeing the closet in our new offices, managing and tracking clothing donations and distribution.
- Immersions
- Preparing and organising the office for immersions, and running them
- Build relationships with other functions in the business
- Ensure that customers are kept happy and satisfied by ensuring that prompt response and efficient service is provided at all times
- Ongoing reinforcement of the Harambee Way of Working
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Matric / Grade 12
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and booking systems is important
- Previous experience in office coordination or event planning is preferred

- The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.
- They should be adept at problem-solving, flexible in adapting to cchanging priorities, and able to work effectively within a team.
- As is the ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Along with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
