Head of Stakeholder Engagement

THE ROLE

Harambee is looking for a dynamic Head of Stakeholder Engagement with a demonstrated passion for building strong stakeholder relations and enhancing our relationships. The individual, who will report into the Chief Communications Officer, must have a demonstrated ability to develop and participate in processes to build new relationships. The successful candidate will be an excellent public speaker, possess leadership qualities and be able to solidify existing relationships by influencing key partners across civil society, government, and the private sector.

AS THE HEAD OF STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT, YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Help build and manage long term partnerships in government and public society through the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement plans, frameworks, guidelines and protocols 

  • Manage a Stakeholder Engagement team 

  • Write reports and articles, as well as content development 

  • Serve as the Deputy Spokesperson 

  • Advocate for youth employment to regulators, government bodies, civil society organisations, and youth

 WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

 Qualification: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (B.Degree in Politics, International Relations, Journalism, or related)

Experience: 

  • 10-12 years of experience in stakeholder relations 
  • Experience in dealing with mid-senior level external stakeholders from government and the NGO sector, as well as internal stakeholders at senior level 
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and government engagement protocols 
  • Proven track record of project management; stakeholder management and senior level engagements; and having managed teams of more than 10 people 
  • Experience in complex, multi-sector, multi stakeholder environments 
  • Proven track record of speaking in public platforms (interviews, panel discussions, stakeholder engagements, etc.)
