ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Manager will work closely with Harambee’s Executive Team, and specifically with
the CEO and Chief of Staff, to co-ordinate work on strategic initiatives, provide support on
aligning executive priorities, develop board-level and Exco reports, oversee key programmes
and provide progress updates on strategic initiatives while facilitating effective communication
across the executive and senior management teams.
The ideal candidate will have proven success in a business management, consulting or project
management role, with a key focus on executive-level advise, interdepartmental collaboration
and the management of a diverse range of initiatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Oversee and report on the progress of strategic business initiatives, from development
    through successful execution, under the guidance of senior leadership.
  • Assist and communicate with executives regarding decision-making, program management,
    and initiative implementation.
  • Support the improvement of current organisational processes and optimise procedures for
    efficiency and productivity.
  • Shape and implement special executive-level projects for the CEO and Chief of Staff.
  • Develop board- and Exco level reports by liaising with relevant senior-level leaders to
    source and appropriately package required information.
  • Attend board and exco meeting to capture minutes including key actions and decisions.
  • Support the CEO and Chief of Staff with diary management, the planning and co-ordination
    of executive team and board meetings and other relevant initiatives to ensure overall
    productivity and effectiveness.
  • Manage the development of key proposals by liaising with relevant leaders and progressing
    the proposal development to completion and submission.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting
    with preparation and dissemination of communications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or similar field.
  • Minimum 7 or more years of experience in a consulting, business management or project
    management role.
  • Experience in influencing senior-level team members as well as organising and directing
    multiple teams.
  • Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives.
  • Versatile abilities and extreme dedication to efficient productivity.
  • Experience in data analysis and budget management.
  • Consulting experience.
  • Proven success in a project management role.
  • Problem solving skills with a proven track record in developing creative solutions.
  • Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications.
